Variable Data Print Campaign

A client of ours was looking for a fun way to show their sales representatives the power of 1:1 marketing. So, for their annual sales meeting they decided to collect some information to create a personalized take away for the attendees.

We worked with the client’s marketing department to develop a series of movie posters that incorporated personal information collected from the sales rep. We developed a webpage to collect the personal information. Attendees were asked to go to a special link on the marketing literature fulfillment site we already hosted for the client. The page asked them their favorite movie genre, actor (“co-star”), actress (“co-star”), band (“music by”), and their pet’s name (“Directed by”). The genre selected set the theme of the poster and background image. Then the title block was filled in with personal data from the database. After the close of business on the day before the sales meeting the poster art was generated. The posters were printed and shipped over night to the sales meeting so they could be handed out to each attendee as they checked in.

These were a big hit with the sales reps, so much so that they opened the program to their entire marketing department after the sales meeting.
